Dear IADVL members,
It is indeed an honour and privilege to have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as President of APIADVL for 2026–27.
I envision this tenure as a year of meaningful academic enrichment, professional collaboration and collective progress, with a special emphasis on strengthening dermatological education across our state.
We aim to introduce structured and engaging academic initiatives, including regular clinical case discussions, Dermpath, Dermoscopy, Dermatosurgery and Rheumatology updates, with periodic participation from all medical colleges across Andhra Pradesh, while ensuring that private practitioners remain equally involved and represented.
Equally important will be fostering stronger bonds among our members through active participation, mutual respect and shared responsibility.
I look forward to working together with each one of you to make our Association more vibrant, inclusive, academically progressive and professionally stronger.

Dear IADVL members,
It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the Secretary of AP IADVL for 2026–27. I see this responsibility as an opportunity to connect, contribute and create a meaningful impact in the growth of our Association.
My priorities will be to strengthen academic activities through regular clinical discussions, Dermpath, Dermoscopy and Dermatosurgery sessions, along with updates in emerging areas of Dermatology and Rheumatology. I hope to encourage active participation from all medical colleges and private practitioners, promote research and academic exchange, and create opportunities for young dermatologists and postgraduate students to learn, lead and excel.
Equally important is strengthening our bonds across generations by actively engaging with and honouring our senior dermatologists, valuing their experience, wisdom and contributions, while nurturing the aspirations of the younger generation. We will also focus on stronger district-level connections, inclusive participation and upholding the dignity of our speciality through awareness against quackery and the promotion of ethical dermatological practice.
I firmly believe that the true strength of an Association lies in respecting its legacy, empowering its present and inspiring its future. Let us transform ideas into action and aspirations into achievements.

First Association formed is the Indian Association of Dermatologists and Venereologistsin 1947, the year of India’s Independence. The members were from all over India mostly from North and Western parts of India. It was actively involved in academic programs: clinical meetings, annual conferences. Office bearers were elected. In 1972 Silver Jubilee celebrations were held in Madras.The association had its own Journal by name ‘Indian Journal of Dermatology and Venereology’ with Dr.T.K.Mehta, a Dermatologist form Bombay as the Editor in Chief for a longtime. The notable personalities associated with the organisation were Prof. Khandari, Dr.Sarat Desai, Dr.C.Sobhanadri and Dr.Schrofalong with many more.
A parallel association ‘The Indian Society of Dermatology’ was in existence with many Dermatologists from Calcutta and other places.
